5 Inexpensive Kids’ Birthday Decoration Ideas

Who doesn’t love partying? Whether it’s your kid’s birthday or your anniversary, a party is a great way to socialize. However, hosting a party within a fixed budget often remains a challenge for most people. While everyone wants to throw the most outrageous celebration of the town, meeting up your guests’ expectations along with minimizing your expenses is tough. One of the areas where you can cut down the expenses without affecting the excitement is your venue decoration. Here are some smart ways to decorate your party venue without spending a lot.

Use food for decoration

Your delicious food can also double up as a party decoration. Show off your cupcakes, pretzel sticks, jar filled with M & Ms, cookies, etc. to your guests. Set the party table just before your guests arrive. Only use food that doesn’t need continuous refrigeration or needs to be served chilled. Your decorative buffet will certainly attract everyone and give a voluminous look to your party. Take out the pedestal bowls and stylish serving trays, use a cupcake stand as a centerpiece, and serve your guests using themed tableware.

Host the party outdoors

This is a great way to minimize your hassles and efforts. Let nature become a perfect backdrop as well as prop for your party. Clean your backyard and use balloons and crepe papers to jazz up the trees and bushes. Inexpensive crafts such as tissue paper pompoms, a handmade banner, etc. will further minimize your budget. You won’t have to do extensive decoration for hosting the party outdoors but make sure you always have a backup plan in case the weather turns unfavorable at the last moment.

Use lots of balloons

Your party decoration will not be complete without lots of bright and colorful balloons. If you are on a tight-budget, they are the best alternative to expensive centerpieces and other decoration supplies. Simply make a balloon bunch and anchor them on a balloon weight to create a fabulous centerpiece. Blow up lots of colorful balloons and let them float in the air, hang them from the ceiling using curling ribbons, or simply use them to cover the wall behind the party table or ceiling. These inexpensive supplies will help you breathe festivity to your party atmosphere.

Use things that are handy

There are endless supplies available in all price range for your celebrations but instead of buying them, you can use things that you already have. If you are on a tight budget, use your child’s stuff toy to anchor the balloons instead of buying a balloon weight. Hang the piñata at the entrance and when all your guests have arrived, hang it inside or wherever you plan to play the game. Let the kids decorate their own tiaras and cookies and take them home as favors.

Do some DIYing

Mommies are the busiest people on the earth; however, if you can take out some time, you must involve yourself in DIYing. This way, you will be able to use your creative side to cut down some of your expenses. Moreover, DIYing will make your child feel special.

A bright and colorful party atmosphere is sure to impress your guests and get them into the party mood. These inexpensive ideas will certainly minimize your expenses and maximize the fun. For more such useful party ideas, visit MyBirthdaySupplies.

Sleepover Party Activities for Teen Girls

Many parents feel that their teenage girls should not attend sleepover parties, as these parties are not safe. However if these are parties are arranged properly at safe places, especially at the host’s house, these can be very successful. You, as a parent, can know more about your daughter’s friends through these parties. You can make out whether your daughter is in a bad or a good company. You can bond with her friends in a better way. So, let’s discuss how you can arrange sleepover parties for your teen girl and what activities can be included in these types of parties: -
  1. Movies – You can arrange an interesting movie that the girls can watch after dinner. Make your hall a home theatre, arrange for a big screen and projector, switch off all the lights and start the movie. Keep some snacks and cold drinks ready to be eaten during the movie time. Do not arrange for scary movies, as this might scare the young girls. Also, do not allow them to watch movies for long, as this will make the party boring.
  1. Fashion Show – Organize a fashion show at home. Arrange for a nice music and some lights. Tell the girls to bring some of their beautiful dresses for the show. The girls will have to wear those dresses one by one and walk as if they are on the ramp. You can be a judge at the show and give away the gifts to those girls who are able to carry their dresses best. Be fair and award something to everyone.
  1. Makeover sessions– Have a home facial session with the girls. Arrange manicure and pedicure supplies and have someone to offer these services. Have some bright nail paints for them. A head massage is sure to relax them.
In the morning, provide good, home-cooked breakfast. Either you can prepare the food for them or have them prepare the breakfast for themselves under your guidance. This will be a fun learning activity for them.

3 Extraordinary Birthday Party Invitation Ideas

Your invitations set the tone of your party, therefore, make sure you choose something that instantly captures the attention of your guests and excite them for attending your celebrations. Although the prepackaged invites are often the easiest and quickest way to announce your party, why not get creative and invite your guests in extraordinary ways. Here are three unusual kids’ birthday party invitation ideas that are sure to make the invitees keyed up about attending your party. You can easily customize them according to your party theme.

Newspaper invite

With little creativity and basic Photoshop skills, you would be able to announce your child’s birthday in a grand way. Scan the front half page of a newspaper and use Photoshop, the image editing program, to edit the main headline and its body. Give a catchy headline declaring your child’s birthday invite such as ‘Calling all superheroes to rescue the world’ or ‘Princess Kate is hosting a royal ball at her Kingdom’. Write an interesting body having all your party details. To fill up the rest of the space, you may include your child’s picture as well. Dress up your child in themed costumes and use this picture in the body. You may take professional help if required or ask your friends and family members to help you out. Take prints outs of these invites and mail them to your friends.

Balloon invite

Why choose the boring paper invites? Blow up some balloons, write your invitation on them, and ask your child to hand deliver them to all the invitees. Alternatively, write your party details on small pieces of papers, roll them up to form tubes, and insert them into the balloons along with some confetti. Hand deliver them and ask your guests to blow them up for reading the invites. These inexpensive invites are sure to set the stage for your party.

Mascot invite

You have to spend a little extra for this invite but it is sure to get your guests go crazy for your big celebration. Buy plain cards and write your party details on them. Hire a mascot to deliver them for you. You may ask your child to accompany him so that the invitees don’t feel awkward to have a stranger at their home. If you are short on budget, you may ask any of your family members to dress up in theme costume and deliver the invites. The kids would be amazed to see fairy godmother or a Spiderman inviting them for your child’s birthday.

Utilize your child’s birthday as an opportunity to get creative and come up with wonderful party ideas that will wow your guests as well your own family members.

Kids love to perform different physical activities and jumping over the obstacles. You can create a homemade obstacle course having a series of activities. The kids have to begin the course from the starting line and race through a series of obstacles to finish it.

Luau Party Activities That Will Provide Ultimate Summertime Fun To Your Guests

For hosting a successful party, you need to think beyond the standard party aspects such as decorations and food. People, especially kids expect lots of fun and entertainment at parties and you, as a host, must plan some entertaining games and activities to keep them involved throughout the party. When kids are in a playful mood, they are least bothered about the decoration or food; all they want is fun. If you are planning a luau party for your child, these luau party games are sure to create a light, lively, and fun atmosphere.

Limbo

No luau party would be complete without a limbo. To play this luau party game, you will need a rod or a stick. A curtain rod will also work. Choose two adults to hold the either ends of the pole. Have your guests put on the grass skirts and flower leis, turn on some Hawaiian music, and ask them to go under the pole by only leaning and not crawling. Once the whole group has passed, lower the pole by a few inches. Anyone who loses his/her balance and falls down is out of the game. Keep repeating this process until you are left with just one player, who will be the winner.

Coconut bowling

Collect 10 empty 2 liter soda bottles and fill them half way with sand so that they stay still till they are bowled. To increase the excitement among kids, decorate the bottles by wrapping grass skirts around them. Arrange them as you would arrange the pins and ask the kids to knock them down using a real coconut. You may use a ball but a coconut will give the kids an authentic luau experience. In order to keep them motivated, award the winners by giving away some Luau Party Supplies

Hula dance

Hire a dance instructor to teach some hula dance moves to your guests. Kids are sure to love this wonderful Luau party idea. Let them dance for a while and later, you may host a short hula dance competition among them. This will be a good change over the conventional patterned party games. If you have a small budget, you can play some hula dance videos and ask the kids to replicate them.

Pass the hot coconut

Twist the conventional ‘pass the hot potato’ game and rename it as ‘pass the hot coconut’. Play some hula music, let the kids sit in a circle, and ask the kids to pass the coconuts around the circle. Whenever the music is stopped, the person holding the coconut will be out of the game.

Apart from these luau party games, we also offer many unique and interesting Luau party ideas that are sure to help you plan an authentic luau. Also, browse our adorable collection of Luau party supplies such as tableware, decorations, favor, etc. to plan a grand party within your budget.
